This educational site collects only what is needed to run the site, protect it from abuse, and improve the learning experience.

Pseudonymous participation

Public participation may use screen names. Public author display is filtered so email-like display names are shown as pseudonymous aliases instead of addresses.

Public sharing

Do not post personal information about yourself or others in public areas. We apply best-effort public redaction for email addresses in content, excerpts, and comments, but you should still avoid posting private information.

Identity and research limits

This project is educational. It does not certify identity, ancestry, tribe, nationality, DNA conclusions, legal status, descent, or membership in any community. Avoid submitting private identity documents, raw DNA files, or personal records about living people.

Quizzes

Micro Quiz selections are stored only in your browser using localStorage. They are not sent to the site.

Ads and analytics

Ad placeholders are disabled by default. Google AdSense code loads only if the site owner configures a valid publisher ID and explicitly enables ads. If AdSense, analytics, or other third-party services are enabled later, this policy, cookie notices, consent flows, and third-party data disclosures should be reviewed before public promotion.

Embedded video

Field videos use click-to-load embeds where possible, so external video providers load only after a visitor chooses to play a video. Each video should include a source note, reuse note, and text alternative or transcript link.
